Therapeutic Communities which were, but are no more

In 2003 members of the ATC email discussion list - predecessor of the Therapeutic Community Open Forum - began a "Virtual Memory Wall" of therapeutic communities. This was not conceived of as a roll of honor - not every thing calling itself a therapeutic community is missed when it goes - but as a list of places which had been but which were no longer. That beginnings of a list has been transplanted here, where additions are actively sought.

Funding difficulties forced a premature closure. Remaining service (Therapeutic Community Service North) has adapted and is offering a reduced but innovative service to several trusts in the North of England.
